A new skate park and cycle pump track opened in the Southeast Greenway of the Mueller neighborhood on Thursday, August 11, 2022.
The new skate park and cycle pump track is located at the corner of Manor Road and Zach Scott Street near the upcoming Austin ISD Northeast Austin Middle School.
You can enjoy skateboarding, inline skating, and riding BMX bikes, as well as relaxing under a colorful shade canopy with restrooms and a water fountain.
The cycle pump track is the first in Texas.
The remainder of the Southeast Greenway is also now open, although a few areas may continue to be developed through this fall.
The Southeast Greenway, now a total of nearly 30 acres, features a one-mile extension of Mueller’s hike and bike trail, a large open field, the already established pond that has become a destination for birders, and more than 450 trees, some of which are in a grove of mature post oaks that existed when the site was the municipal airport.
Designed by RVi Planning, the Southeast Greenway also features multiple picnic tables, benches, drinking fountains, bike racks, and a small lighted parking lot at Zach Scott Street near Manor Road.
At Tilley Street, the greenway connects to another previously developed portion of the greenway, commonly referred to as “The Orchard” because of its collection of various fruit and nut trees.
Have fun skating and riding at the new park.
