Recently, the parks in Mueller that are named after local luminaries had plaques installed to share information about each park’s namesake.
Mary Elizabeth Branch Park was named after the first black female president of a senior college at Tillotson College.
This park features a 3.5-acre open green space located just three blocks from Dell Children’s Medical Center; sand volleyball courts, an enclosed dog-run and a flexible area for social games like Bocce; an open lawn area suitable for family picnics, a 10-foot wide trail and exercise/stretching area, a nearby set of restrooms that feature a landscaped rooftop, and a children’s playground, sensory gardens, rain gardens and 220 new trees.
The park is also the location for the Texas Farmers’ Market at Mueller every Sunday from 10 AM to 2 PM.
